Banana Pudding

My wife had surgery at the beginning of Thanksgiving week so she was down for the holiday and could not cook. That led to my mother coming to help out including cooking Thanksgiving dinner.

Can I just say that my mom's banana pudding is "The Shiiiiiitttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!" I killed the banana pudding!!!

Where do I start. Maybe I will start with X-mas dinner last year. My wife is usually a very good cook but if you read my post last year during the X-mas holiday you know that my wife cooking with the help of my sister-in-law was not a good combination. It was horrible and I will leave it at that......for more on that disaster look in the archives under April of 2008 and the post is Titled, "I've Been Holding Out."

Anyway, my mom came and put her foot in it. Outstanding!!!!! She even cared for my wife while she was recovering from her surgery. She is the best! My wife was actually a decent patient which usually she is not.......UPDATE since I wrote the previous sentence things changed. Within a few days my wife was on the StairMaster. I told her that if she was going to do things she should not do then she should do something constructive like go outside and rake leaves.

I of course, have a few complaints from the week off. First, my sister-in-law, who was only supposed to live with us for a couple of months after moving here to Chicago but is still with us a couple of years later. She had to work on the day of Thanksgiving at 3pm. She gets paid extra to work on that day right?

My assumption is that you get paid because you spend that day away from your family and maybe you have to miss or eat Thanksgiving Dinner later. Instead of eating later which I think is the proper thing to do she goes into the food and samples everything.......I guess there won't be any pictures of this year's meal since there is one scoop or chunk of meat taken out of everything. I guess I could have taken a picture of the turkey and told friends that we got a discount for buying a turkey with one leg.
Whatever, the Thanksgiving meal was fantastic compared to Christmas of last year. Christmas is up next. Hopefully just my wife will be in the kitchen this year and all will be well.

I'm Tired

What makes a man a man? When does a man becomes the man he is to be? When does he become that person who will make an impact on the world. When does he have the experience that molds him into that man? Or is it that he is having that experience all throughout his life?

All of these questions are perplexing to me. Am I having an impact on the world? Does anyone even give a damn? Well, I do give a damn and that is the problem. My way of loving and giving to the world means nothing to anyone and no one cares that I do it. Does that mean I continue to give or do I just change the way I give and just get 'mine'.
