NBA Playoffs

Here are my picks for the 1st round. First the East:
  • The Cavs over the Wizards in a close series. LBJ makes the difference. Agent 0 may be an assassin but Lebron can kill you in so many ways. Not only that he will set up others to kill you.
  • The Magic over the Raptors. Magic have too many weapons. How can you bet against this? Turkoglu is averaging 19.5 points 5.7 rebounds and 5 assists (yes that Turgkolu), an underrated Rashard Lewis averages 18and 5, oh and did I forget to mention the Superman Dunking man-child in the middle Dwight Howard at 21 and 14? They are a good enough defensive team to get out of the first round as long as Howard stays out of foul trouble.
  • Detroit over Philly. Philly has been playing well but forget about it! Detroit allows 90.1 points per game....its a wrap.
  • Boston over Atlanta. Again too much defense. KG and company were right behind Detroit in points allowed at 90.3 and you know Boston is going to score on the offensive end. (KG should be MVP by the way but he won't get it)

Those were easy. The east is weak but the probably have the two best teams in the whole league. Now for the West:

  • Utah over Houston. T-Mac and the boys have been working some miracles but now its time to pay the piper. Utah has too good a team. Utah is a poor road team though so there may be a glimmer of hope here because Houston has home court advantage.
  • Lakers over Denver. The Lakers are solid and Denver does not play defense. They allow 107 points a game.
  • Dallas and New Orleans - This is a tough one is a toss up. A strong veteran team that has been there but has a questionable heart or a younger, stronger team with an MVP candidate running the show, the heart of young lions but no playoff experience. I've had trouble believing in the Hornets all year and things have not changed. I'm taking Dallas in a long series.
  • Phoenix and San Antonio - Best match up of the first round. You've got the track team that used to run past everybody in the regular season only to get bullied into submission during the physical playoffs. Now, Steve Kerr has risked his new job by bringing in a shot putter for the 400 meter relay team. You may have heard of him, they call him Shaq. Te trade looked like a disaster at first then it all came together. Now is the payoff for the trade. As the game turns into a half court game for the playoffs the Suns are fully prepared. They have a physical defender for Tim Duncan in Shaq so that Amare is not worn out playing D against 'The Big Fundamentals'. The Spurs suddenly looked old over the last couple of weeks of the season but they still have the heart of a champion. Duncan, Parker, and Ginobli seem to always find a way to get it done. This time though I think they come up short and Shaq makes Kerr look like a genius.

OK I am really iffy about that San Antonio pick. Good thing is no one will probably ever read this blog so who cares. I can also just come back and edit if I am wrong!!

That's all I Got!

I'm Out!
